The 2007 Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) Caribbean Conference marks the ninth year for this long standing, successful event. Set to run 14 – 16 May, the Cayman STEP Branch will host this year's conference which will be the central meeting place for the offshore financial services industry for 2007. The programme is developed by a steering committee consisting of STEP Caribbean Conference Chairpersons from Anguilla, The Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Turks & Caicos, British Virgin Islands, Barbados, Bermuda, Panama and Miami branches. The conference promises to provide delegates with a quality program of guest lecturers, workshops, panel discussions and keynote speakers. This years theme, IFC’s: The Essential Piece in the Global Economic Puzzle, captures the continued important role that the offshore financial centres play in the financial services industry. Concerned with presenting topics that are of interest to all jurisdictions in the Caribbean, the 2007 conference will examine macro issues facing STEP professionals worldwide with speakers coming from the US, UK and Europe. Back by popular demand, international business and finance professor and Director of the Global Perspectives Program at Goizueta Business School of Emory University, Jeff Rosensweig is “not to be missed” with his insightful look at the economic and global impact of the baby boomer turning sixty! Delegates are expected from many of the Caribbean jurisdictions as well as Canada, the UK, Europe and US. In 1999, over 250 delegates attended the inaugural conference in Nassau making it the largest financial services conference held anywhere. Further conferences have taken place in Turks and Caicos in 2000, Cayman Islands in 2001, Miami in 2002, Virgin Islands in 2003 , The Bahamas in 2004, Miami , hosted by STEP Barbados in 2005 and Bermuda in 2006. The Bermuda conference was an outstanding success, gathering many of the region’s key decision-makers in a variety of practice areas. This year we have added a few more innovations to provide the delegate with an even more enhanced conference experience. Networking opportunities, luncheon speakers and “no holds barred” panel discussions, will put STEP Caribbean Conference 2007 high on the list of “must attend” conferences for this year. |
