FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

STEP CARIBBEAN CONFERENCE TACKLES TOUGH ECONOMIC CLIMATE WITH A “BEST IN CLASS” LINE UP OF SPEAKERS

TORONTO, Ont. – February 21, 2010 – 2009 has delivered a new sense of urgency for Trust Professionals in these continually tough economic times and the STEP Caribbean Conference 2010 (CC10) on May 24-26 in Bridgetown Barbados is the solution.

In its 12th year the conference has been re-designed, to keep up with the industry and provide trust professionals with the tools to succeed in this new world order. Attendance provides an opportunity to connect with some of the leading edge presenters in the sector and network with colleagues and clients from around the world. Many of the sector's most brilliant minds will come together to exchange ideas, grow businesses, challenge the status quo and make sure you are not left behind.

The conference consists of three days of networking, sharing of ideas and strategies for senior trust professionals with the added bonus of more technical and practical breakout sessions for mid level managers.  As the record shows, conference organizers are expecting seats to sell out quickly, especially following last year’s outstanding conference in Puerto Rico. Delegates are encouraged to register early to guarantee them an opportunity to get ahead. A full roster of sponsors is on board and conference chair Adrian Meyer commented on the line up of speakers.

“Each year, the steering committee stands back and takes a critical look at the current macro climate and what will appeal to the trust practitioner in the coming year with regards to topics – the program is then developed and leading edge speakers are confirmed – this year is no exception and we have given much thought to the current economic environment and the challenges that our industry will be facing during these tough times.”

Topics include: What is Next on the OECD Wish List, Deciphering the OECD's End Game, TIEA's – Friend or Foe, Spotting A Ponzi Scheme BEFORE You Invest, Negotiating Tax Treaties, Death of a Marriage, Latin American "Trusts" (Fideicomisos) and Their Uses, International Trusts and Their Uses for Latin American Persons, Doing Outbound Business, The Next Generation, Role of IFC's in the Global Economy, Everything You Wanted to Know About Protectors But Were Afraid to Ask, Lessons Learned from the Financial Crisis, The Legitimacy of Tax Planning, Repositioning for Recovery and more.

A full line up of topics and speakers can be found at the website.  Delegates are encouraged to register now and take advantage of the early bird registration savings. This year’s conference will be held at the Hilton Barbados on the lush tropic peninsula of Needham’s Point. Delegates are welcome to come early and enjoy some of Barbados’ hospitality and culture.
