Ronique is currently employed as a Senior Administrator of Trust and Corporate Services at Isles of Knight Ltd. She has been employed in the banking industry for approximately 12 years having served in the areas of Operations, Research, Trust and Corporate Services.  Ronique is a graduate of St. Augustine’s College in Nassau, Bahamas and later obtained her Bachelor’s degree in International Business/Finance with a minor in Spanish at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is also fluent in Spanish having studied in Mexico for one year. Ronique is a certified Trust and Estate Practitioner as well as a member of the local STEP Bahamas branch.

P. Jillian Bethel is an entrepreneur and former obstetrician-gynecologist whose fluency in Mandarin Chinese and medical skills led her to work alongside Chinese surgeons, medical research teams and international health management teams for years before her introduction to blockchain technology.


She immersed herself in the Chinese blockchain and cryptocurrency space eventually leaving the medical industry to pursue blockchain technology application. The marriage of her passions for blockchain tech and entrepreneurship along with her dedication to country prompted her return to the Bahamas in 2018 with the goal of applying blockchain technology to the advancement and stimulation of the Bahamian economy and culture. Currently, she is the Director of Partnerships and Development at PO8, a Bahamian marine archaeology company that leverages blockchain technology.


Jillian one of few women in the Bahamian blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, and entrepreneurial spaces and sees it as her personal responsibility to empower more women to be involved in entrepreneurship and tech industries.


She is a founding member of the Bahamas-based HODL Group of Companies.

Shivron Gay is an Attorney at Law seven years called to The Bahamas Bar and a subject matter expert in banking and finance law and also equity and trusts offering Legal Advisory and Consultancy Services.

Shivron has previous experience as the Vice President, WM Operations in charge of Regulatory Reporting at JP Morgan Chase & Co. where he worked as a Tax Project Manager & Operations Manager respectively with demonstrated experience in the areas of regulatory reporting, tax law, trust law, and finance law. Shivron is therefore focused on FATCA, CRS, FBAR, and other ad hoc tax projects. Shivron also worked as a delivery manager and vendor manager responsible for third party engagements/supplier contracts from on-boarding, steady state, and disengagement with third party vendors.  

Shivron previously worked as a trust officer, and remediation officer at Equity Bank And Trust Bahamas Limited thereby accumulating fairly extensive financial services experience.

Shivron has a LL.B. with Honours from the University of the West Indies, a Legal Education Certificate from the Eugene Dupuch Law School, Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma (in Equity and Trusts) respectively and a Master of Laws degree in Banking and Finance Law (Merit). Shivron also has a project management for development certificate from the Inter-American Development Bank. Shivron has successfully completed the STEP Diploma in International Trust Management in April 2019.


 

BRETT HIGGS

Brett is an Attorney-at-Law with a wide field of industry experience in wealth planning, corporate structuring and corporate financing. While pursuing his double honors specialization in Business and Political Science, at Western University, London (ON), he found his calling for law during his final year in a Business Law class. After realizing that he wanted to pursue a career in law he went on to attend the Public and Private International Law program at the Hague Academy of International Law before going on to Bristol (UK) to obtain his qualifying law degree and being called to the Bar of England & Wales.

After completing his studies in the UK and interning at a number of Chambers in London and Bristol, he returned to The Bahamas to complete his pupillage/articling with Higgs & Johnson law firm where he was eventually retained as a Corporate Attorney. While working on various corporate and commercial matters he continued to deepen his knowledge of the wealth planning industry through various STEP courses and eventually decided to transition fully into the Trust Industry by becoming a Trust Manager at Rhone Trustees (Bahamas) Ltd. It was while working at Rhone that he realized that in order to have a better understanding of client wealth structuring needs he would have to become knowledgeable about the various tax implications that such structures create. Accordingly he obtained his Masters in Tax Law from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto (ON) and is currently working as a Corporate Trust Officer from TSX Trust Company where he is able to leverage his past experience to negotiate various corporate financing instruments and trust/agency indentures.

Palincia Hunter is an associate at Munroe & Associates and is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Palincia‘s areas of practice include Personal Injury & Fatal Accidents, Employment Law, Family Law and General Civil Litigation.

In 2012, Palincia obtained her Associates Degree in Law & Criminal Justice from the College of the Bahamas and thereafter she obtained a Bachelor of Laws in 2015 at the University of The West Indies (Cave Hill, Barbados Campus). In September2017 she completed her Bar Training at the Eugene Dupuch Law School and was called to the Bar of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas in October 2017. 

KENDRICK KNOWLES

Kendrick Knowles Jr. is a well-known I.T. Professional, uniquely tied to financial services largely due to his technical involvement with the legal and financial services industry during his career.


He worked as Network Administrator for Commonwealth Bank early in his career and later as head of Information Technology at Higgs & Johnson for 7 years.


During his time at Higgs & Johnson he spoke at various client seminars on topics like Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence in Law.


In 2013 he was invited as a presenter at the Aderant Momentum conference in Miami Beach to showcase his design implementation of Legal and Financial software across the Bahamas and Cayman Islands.


In 2018 he attended the International Legal and Technology Association Conference in Las Vegas where he was able to participate and offer insights on the future of technology in The Bahamas.


Currently, Kendrick serves as the Network Operations Manager for Cable Bahamas where his direct responsibility is to maintain and manage the technology, systems and network resources that offer quality of service for commercial and residential subscribers.


From 2007 to the current day Kendrick has taught over 2,000+ IT professionals as a certified technical instructor for Future Net Bahamas and Synergy Bahamas.


Although his time as an instructor today is largely reserved for evenings and weekends, he has unflinchingly committed to always being a coach to somebody somewhere while constantly seeking ways that he himself can be coached.


Kendrick has over 14 internationally accredited professional level certifications, the latest being the Project Management Professional (PMP) achieved in 2018. He has studied Management at the University of The West Indies and most recently is a member of the Harvard Business School Management Essentials cohort.

Raschard is a Trust Officer at J. P. Morgan Trust Company (Bahamas) Limited serving clients in the Mexico/LATAM Region. Previously, Raschard has worked in several capacities in individual and institutional wealth management over the past 13 years He graduated from The College of The Bahamas (now University of The Bahamas) with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Banking and Finance with Foreign Language (Spanish). He also graduated from Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY with a Master of Science in Finance.

CANDICE MCPHEE

Candice McPhee always wanted to become an Attorney at Law. The proud Kingsway Academy graduate pursued her love of helping people and passion for the law by studying at the College of The Bahamas, graduating with an Associates of Arts Degree in Law and Criminal Justice. She went on to receive a Bachelors of Laws Honours (LL.B) in 2007 at the University of the West Indies Nassau Campus and her Certificate of Legal Education (C.L.E) from the Eugene Dupuch Law School in 2009. Later that year, she was called to the Bahamas Bar.

 

She also explored her love of different cultures and languages – living in Paris during her college semester break and taking French classes at Alliance Francaise. In 2010, she took a Spanish immersion course in San Jose, Costa Rica, receiving an Intermediary Certificate from the Costa Rican Language Academy.

 

Returning home, she settled into her legal career, starting at the Law Chambers of Dorsey McPhee and Co where she practiced Criminal Law and working at C. Yvette McCartney Law Chambers, then later as an Associate Attorney at Carlino and Co Law Firm. She specialised in Family Law, Personal Injury matters as well as Conveyancing Law. In 2010, she was featured as one of the many outstanding alumni from the University of The Bahamas.

In 2013, she  furthered her professional development  and enrolled with the Bahamas Institute of Financial Services. She obtained her ICA International Diploma in Anti Money Laundering and Compliance the following year. In 2015, she began work as the Compliance Officer and MLRO with Pacifico Global Advisors Ltd, a Broker Dealer firm.

 

She is one of the directors of Phoenix Capital Ltd, which specialises in wealth management in addition to the provision of Financial Investments and Advisory services. Phoenix also provides innovative solutions such as Fintech products and blockchain-related solutions.

Candice is a homegrown success and, with almost ten years of being a qualified Attorney at Law and five years in the Financial Services Industry, she continues to strive for excellence.

ANAYAH MILLER

JP Morgan Trust Company (Bahamas) Limited

Anayah Miller is a young professional who is privileged to be a part of a team of dedicated trust & estate professionals at one of the world's largest asset and wealth management firms. She began her career in the Trust and Estates business in 2013, when she secured an Executive Administrative Assistant position within the International Fiduciary Services department of JP Morgan Trust Company (Bahamas) Limited. Anayah migrated into the trust team in March of 2016, where she worked as a Trust Analyst on the Latin American team. Aside  from her corporate duties within the off-shore banking sector, she is passionate about photography and design, which she undertakes in her free time in order to keep her creative juices flowing.

 

Anayah holds a Masters in Business Administration degree, as well as a Bachelor of  Science degree specializing in International Business with a Hospitality Management  minor; both obtained from Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. She successfully completed the internationally-accredited STEP Diploma in International Trust  Management in 2016, and obtained her TEP designation thereafter. She is also certified  in Graphic Design within Adobe Photoshop, and provides financial planning coaching to teenagers and young adults, focusing on budget creation and managing financial and educational goals.

DANAE O'BRIEN

Danae O’Brien is a Financial Analyst at the Central Bank of The Bahamas. She currently manages a portfolio of International Banks & Trusts. She specializes in Regulatory, Policy, Banking, and Trust oversight.

Butterfield Trust Bahamas Limited

Patwell is currently employed at Butterfield Trust (Bahamas) Limited where he functions in the capacity of a Trust Officer. He has over 8 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry.  Patwell was most recently employed at a local Financial and Corporate Service Provider, which specialized in Protectorships, Company Administration and Trust Administration through the use of Private Trust Companies. Patwell was also a member of the New Business team, with responsibility for addressing potential client enquiries and further, overseeing and ensuring that they transition into profitable new business.


Patwell began his career in The Bahamas at Pictet Bank and Trust Limited where he gained exposure in Corporate Actions as well as Invoicing and Account Reconciliations. Patwell brings an intermediate level of expertise in Trust, Company and Private Trust Company administration and a very well-rounded set of skills to Butterfield Trust.  Patwell holds a Bachelors of Business Administration in Banking and Finance with a concentration in Private Banking and Trust. Patwell has successfully completed the Series 7 and is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practioners (STEP). Patwell was also most recently nominated for the Bahamas Financial Services Board Millennial of the Year Award in 2018.

Laura Ruse is a Trust Officer and Corporate Administrator currently working at Hamilton Trust Company Limited in Bermuda, where she oversees the administration of a growing portfolio of clients which ranges from private trust companies to decades-old family trusts. She enjoys the demanding nature of working at a small, boutique firm and has amassed a wealth of knowledge regarding both trust and corporate matters in her two years of industry experience so far. 

 

Laura began her journey with Hamilton Trust over ten years ago as a summer student before going on to obtain a degree in English Literature from Oxford Brookes University. Following the conclusion of her studies, she remained in the United Kingdom for several years and gained extensive experience in management roles within the hospitality industry before returning to her native Bermuda in 2015. 

 

Laura’s diverse professional background gives her a unique perspective in the private client sector, with a keen attention to detail and focus on the development of relationships. Laura is a student member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has just completed her fourth and final exam of the Diploma in International Trust Management after passing all other exams with distinction in the past year.

Chrislyn is currently employed as a Trust Officer.  She has over 10+ years working in the financial market providing a high calibre of service to clients and professionals within the fiduciary arena. She possesses an LLB (Hons) in International Commercial Law. Chrislyn has also worked in London and Geneva. 

 

Chrislyn has a diverse background, some of her experiences include: Pro Bono, Trading, Investments, Pensions, Compliance, Fiduciary and also New Business - HNWI / UHNWI’s.

Norrissa Williams is a young motivated business professional with over five years of experience in the Financial Industry. A proud Alumni of the College of the Bahamas, Norrissa started her career employed with The Private Trust Corporation Limited as a Corporate Services Administrative Assistant. Thereafter, she decided to gain more experience in the Trust Department and secured employment with Integritas Trust Company Limited as a Trust Administrator Assistant. In 2017, Norrissa advanced in her career and gained employment with J.P. Morgan Trust Company (Bahamas) Limited as a Trust Analyst.


Norrissa developed an ongoing passion for learning. She graduated from the College of the Bahamas with Honors in Private Banking and Finance, and is continuously seeking ways to deepen her knowledge. She enrolled in STEP’s Diploma in International Trust Management and successfully completed same by obtaining her TEP designation. Currently, Norrissa is studying to obtain her MBA in Chartered Banking. In her spare time, she enjoys exercising, travelling and spending time with her loved ones.
